Wonderful spot. The food, wine, and service were exceptional. Massimo is a gem and makes the entire experience. The broiled calamari, pasta with lamb ragu, veal chops and tiramisu were all as good as I’ve enjoyed them in Italy—if not better. I’ll definitely be back. One of my new favorites in LA!

Locanda Veneta is elite. No gimmicks, just fire food every single time. It’s old-school Italian done right — upscale but not pretentious. The open kitchen is a nice touch, and the chef literally checks every dish before it hits your table. You can tell they really care about quality.
Everything I’ve ever had there has been phenomenal. Pastas, sauces, specials — all of it. The vibe is perfect for a date night. Classy without trying too hard. And the waitstaff is solid. They know the menu, gives great recs, super attentive.
If you know, you know. This is my go-to when I want real Italian without the fluff.

My husband and I wanted to start off our week-long get-away with lunch at the Locanda Veneta, so we went on a Friday afternoon for lunch. The owner and his son were friendly and very hospitable from the moment we stepped inside the door. Being born and raised in No Italy, I spoke to the owner in Italian who told me his story, but not before putting us at a very romantic table for 2 in the window……it was perfect! We ordered some wine and every dish we ordered was divine, I mean every one! Even the tiramisu was fabulous: traditional, yet with a lighter note.

Locanda Veneta is always AMAZING! Cozze Vongole is exquisite. I am desperate for the recipe. Branzino and Carbonara are the best you can find anywhere. If you are lucky enough to score their pear tart – indulge Massimo makes the whole experience enjoyable. If you have not been there GO!!!
